In the ÖSD B2 exam, your first task is to write a complaint. It should be about 120 words long. It is important not only that you use an appropriate style of writing and greetings, but also that you use all the points of complaint in the statement.
In your text, be sure to work through all the guidelines in a sensible way!
Here they check whether you have really chosen a formal style: (salutation, closing formula, formal choice of words).
Make sure that your text has paragraphs and a logical structure and use appropriate connectors.
Have the words been chosen appropriately for the text and do they convey formal style?
Here, the structure of words and sentences as well as spelling and grammar are checked. If grammatical errors are repetitive, they will only be assessed once.
Dear Ms Reiter,
This summer I did an internship at your company because I liked your advertisement for it very much. Unfortunately, many things were not as promised and therefore I would like to complain about the following points.
Your advertisement had said that I would do varied office work in the summer. However, I only copied and made coffee. Besides, I was really looking forward to speaking German - but then only English was spoken in the office.
I am sorry to tell you that on top of that I also had to work 1 to 2 hours of overtime per day and received low pay overall.
Personally, I don't think it's okay that your ad promised many things, but then didn't keep them. For this reason, I unfortunately cannot recommend your company as an internship.
With kind regards
Sabine Erker

If you write more than 120 words in the exam, there will be no deductions. However, I recommend that you stick to 120 words - that way you can make fewer mistakes! 😊
If you write less than 120 words, points may be deducted according to various assessment criteria.
