ÖSD exam B2 - Writing part 2 (expression of opinion)

This task is assessed by:

1) Text length

You should write about 120 words. If you write more, there will be no deductions. CAUTION: Longer texts usually have more mistakes. So try not to write more.

If you write less than 50% of the required words, you will fail the test.

2) Have you dealt with all the guidelines?

Make sure you cover all 4 points sensibly, otherwise there will be deductions.

3) Style and register

The text must be a clear expression of opinion and must not be too colloquial. Try to argue in a factual way. Insults should have no place!

4) Structure

Try to structure your text and organise it well. Connecting words can help you to do this. At B2 level, show that you already know a large number of connectors and can use them.

5) Vocabulary

Try to avoid repeating words and use complex phrases.

6) Formal correctness

Here, the structure of words and sentences as well as spelling and grammar are checked. However, if grammatical errors are repetitive, they will only be assessed once.

"Living together - yes or no?"

I have seenheadlines in various newspapers on the topic of "Living together - yes or no?" and would now like to share my opinion.

I share the view of the 3 headlines and think that nowadays fewer and fewer people live in relationships as we knew them 30 years ago. In my experience, many young people first travel after graduating from high school or university or even work abroad for a longer period of time. Nobody thinks about a longer relationship or even marriage. In my circle of friends there are also a large number of singles.

I am not entirely convinced that this is the best way to be happy. For example, my grandparents were happily married for over 50 years. In my opinion, everyone should choose the relationship model that suits him/her.

Means of expression:

I have seen headlines in various newspapers on the subject of ... and would now like to share my opinion.

I share the view (attention: genitive follows!) ...

I think that ...

I am not entirely convinced that ...

In my opinion ...
